The ageing sector brings together different stakeholders with very different needs: specialised professionals looking for employment or wishing to provide services, organisations seeking qualified professionals, and individuals or families looking for support within their community.
The main challenge was to transform these different requirements into a single platform, creating specific journeys for each user profile without fragmenting the overall experience.
The platform needed to manage registrations, professional and organisational profiles, job opportunities, service provision and information search while remaining intuitive for users with different levels of digital experience.
Beyond employment, the platform also needed to encourage the development of a genuine community around ageing by supporting knowledge sharing, events, initiatives and connections between different stakeholders.
We developed a custom digital platform structured around three main user profiles: Professional, Organisation and Community.
Each profile provides an experience and set of features tailored to its specific needs.
Organisations can create profiles, discover professionals looking for opportunities and publish job vacancies. Professionals can showcase their experience, education and services, indicate their availability for employment or community services and browse available opportunities. Community users can find professionals providing relevant services and publish their own requirements or opportunities.
A dedicated networking area was also developed to complement the platform’s employment and service features, bringing together news, events and content related to ageing, longevity, health and wellbeing. This allows AgeLink to operate simultaneously as an employment platform, specialist directory and knowledge-sharing space.
The interface was designed to simplify a functionally complex architecture through clear information hierarchy, search and filtering tools, contextual calls to action and user journeys tailored to each type of profile.
Microinteractions, visual feedback and subtle animations help make the platform feel more fluid, guiding actions such as searching, registering, exploring profiles and browsing opportunities without distracting from the content.
The responsive experience also ensures consistent usability across desktop, tablet and smartphone, an important requirement for a platform designed for professionals, organisations, families and the wider community.
